Official inauguration of the new Haitian airline ZED Airlines S.A. 24/05/2026 09:23:46
On Friday, May 22, 2026, Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications, participated in the official inauguration ceremony of the new Haitian airline, ZED Airlines S.A. This significant event took place in the presence of several members of the government, including James Monazard (Minister of Commerce) and Patrick Pélissier (Minister of Justice and Public Security). Representatives of the diplomatic corps, José Bernard Mathias Schettini, Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), and Davide Jean Charle, President and CEO of ZED Airlines, accompanied by company executives, were also present to celebrate the launch. In his remarks, Minister Pierre Louis described this project as a true sign of hope, resilience, and confidence in Haiti's ability to recover and move forward. He emphasized that the air transport sector plays a fundamental role in the development of a modern nation, as it fosters economic exchange, brings people closer together, stimulates tourism, facilitates investment, and strengthens the country's regional and international integration. While commending the vision of the promoters of ZED Airlines S.A., the Minister emphasized that the growth of civil aviation in Haiti depends on essential synergy between the State, regulatory bodies, international partners, and private investors. In conclusion, Pierre Louis extended his best wishes for success to the company's management and staff, reiterating that quality service remains the key to their success, while reaffirming the Government's unwavering institutional support for initiatives aimed at revitalizing the transportation sector. It should be noted that this inauguration coincided with the company's first commercial flight between Miami and Cap-Haitien.
