Morocco : Chancellor Raina Forbin calls for strengthened international mobilization for Haiti

On Tuesday, May 20, 2026, in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, Raina Forbin, Haiti's Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the 2nd High-Level Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping in Francophone Environments.

This participation also provided an opportunity for Haiti to strengthen international cooperation within the Francophone community and to consolidate the international support necessary for the deployment of the Gang Supression Force (GSF).

The Conference was opened by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, both co-chairs of the Conference.

Speaking during the ministerial debate, Foreign Minister Raina Forbin highlighted the efforts undertaken by Prime Minister Fils-Aimé's government to restore state authority, strengthen public security, and create the conditions for a return to democratic and constitutional order in Haiti.

Raina Forbin also reiterated Haiti's call for a stronger international commitment to the deployment of the Gang Supression Force (GSF), stating that any delay would have a considerable human cost for the Haitian population. She advocated for stronger, faster, and more coordinated international cooperation in the face of the magnitude of the security crisis facing the country.

Minister Forbin finally reaffirmed Haiti's commitment to the principles of international solidarity, lasting peace, and multilateral cooperation within the Francophone community.

Following the ministerial segment, the participants adopted the "Rabat Declaration".

Furthermore, during a press conference following the meeting between Minister Raina Forbin and her counterpart Nasser Bourita, Minister of African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, the Haitian Foreign Minister reiterated Haiti's position in favor of Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara region, reaffirming Haiti's support for the Autonomy Plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco.
