The Haitian Gov is toughening its response against gangs.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé convened the highest-ranking officials of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the High Command of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), Minister of Defense Mario Andresol, and the heads of the Gang Supression Force (GSF), in the presence of all operational commanders deployed in the field.

The purpose of this meeting was to review the national security situation and to finalize new offensive measures aimed at intensifying the recapture of territories occupied by armed groups.

This strategic meeting, now held every Wednesday, establishes a permanent mechanism for evaluating, coordinating, and preparing joint interventions by the security forces.

The Government has declared a nationwide security presence throughout the country.

Operations conducted by the PNH, supported by the FAd’H and the GSF, will be immediately reinforced, intensified, and continued without interruption until the full restoration of state authority in all occupied areas.

The Government announced a zero-tolerance policy toward armed gangs, terrorists, their networks, logistical support, financiers, and all those who, directly or indirectly, contribute to maintaining insecurity.

It emerged from this meeting that no territory will be abandoned, no complicity will be tolerated, and no criminal financing will go unpunished. "The State is standing firm, the response is underway, the Republic will triumph, and order will be restored.” The Prime Minister’s Office.
