107 Haitians Deported from the Bahamas On Friday, May 15, 2026, the Bahamas Department of Immigration announced the deportation of 107 Haitian citizens, including 22 women and five minors, who were in an irregular immigration situation. The migrants left Lynden Pindling International Airport on a Bahamasair flight. According to the Department of Immigration, several Haitian nationals had overstayed their authorized period of stay in the Bahamas, and others were arrested for offenses related to illegal entry into the archipelago. 72,000 Displaced Persons in Nippes On Thursday, May 14, the local Civil Protection agency revealed that more than 72,000 displaced persons had been registered in Nippes due to the escalation of violence in the western department. PNH : Intensive Operational Firing Training From May 13 to 15, 2026, more than 100 police officers from the Southeast, drawn from specialized units of the Southeast Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO), the Intervention and Public Order Maintenance Corps (CIMO), the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), and the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ), received intensive training in operational firing, special intervention techniques, and the piloting of surveillance drones. This training was provided by an international technical expert from the French Embassy's Internal Security Service and instructors from the PNH's BRI, sent specifically for this mission. In addition to these advanced training courses, computer equipment was donated to the Southeast SDPJ, as well as surveillance and intervention equipment to the units deployed in Seguin.
