FLASH : New minimum wages in Haiti for all sectors of activity (official 2026) 16/05/2026 09:20:39
The Government published in the official gazette "Le Moniteur" special issue number 21, the decree setting minimum wages for all sectors of activity. This decree repeals all decrees or provisions of decrees that contradict it. Minimum Wages 2026 by Sector of Activity : Segment A + 29.87%: 1,000 Gourdes (770 Gourdes in 2022) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum wage is set at 1,000 Gourdes per 8-hour workday in : private electricity production; financial institutions (banks, money transfer companies, insurance companies); telecommunications; import-export trade; supermarkets; jewelry stores; art galleries; furniture, home furnishings, and appliance stores; computer equipment stores; and car rental companies. Air transport companies; Courier, parcel, and cargo companies; Gambling companies (lottery outlets, casinos, etc.); Car dealerships; Communication, advertising agencies, and print, broadcast, television, and electronic media (excluding community press); Private schools; Private universities; Private healthcare facilities, doctors' offices, and clinics; Funeral homes; Maritime and airport agencies; Professional and consulting firms; Travel agencies; Hotels with 4 Hibiscus stars; and Real estate agencies. Segment B + 46.34%: 900 Gourdes (615 Gourdes in 2022) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum wage is set at 900 Gourdes per 8-hour workday in the following sectors: Construction and Public Works (BTP); Truck and Heavy Equipment Rental Companies; Construction Materials Rental Companies; Construction Materials Transportation Companies; Hardware Stores; Other Financial Institutions (Cooperatives or Credit Unions, Microcredit Institutions); Wholesale Trade; Cosmetics and Clothing Stores; Bulk Water Delivery Businesses; Land Transportation Companies; Hotels with 3 or fewer Hibiscus ratings; Printing, Photocopying, Graphic Design, Lithography, and Computer Services; Hairdressing and Massage Salons; Laundry and Dry Cleaning Companies; Extractive Industries (Mines and Quarries); and Maritime Transportation Companies. Manufacturing industries geared towards the local market, bottling industries for soft drinks, juices, treated water, and breweries. Segment C +40.74%: 760 Gourdes (540 Gourdes in 2022) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum wage is set at 760 Gourdes per 8-hour workday in : Restaurants; Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Fishing; Agricultural Product Processing Industries; Retail Trade, excluding Supermarkets, Jewelry Stores, Cosmetics and Clothing Stores; Craft and Leather Goods Shops; Community Press; Other Non-Market Services; Non-Profit Organizations, such as national and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Foundations, Associations, and Non-Financial Production and Service Cooperatives. Segment E +42.85%: 500 Gourdes (350 Gourdes in 2022) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum wage is set at 500 Gourdes per 8-hour workday for domestic service personnel (housekeepers). Segment F +45.99%: 1,000 Gourdes (685 Gourdes in 2022) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum wage is set at 1,000 Gourdes per 8-hour workday for : Export-oriented assembly industries; For other export-oriented manufacturing industries, the production wage is set at 1,300 Gourdes. Segment G +50.41%: 925 Gourdes (615 Gourdes in 2022): Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum reference wage is set at 925 Gourdes per 8-hour workday for: Private security agencies and petroleum product distribution companies. Segment H +46.34%: 900 Gourdes (615 Gourdes in 2019) : Effective May 6, 2026, the minimum reference wage is set at 900 Gourdes per 8-hour workday for private vocational schools and private healthcare institutions employing more than 10 people and providing inpatient services.
