PNH : Large-Scale Deployment in Sensitive Areas Due to clashes between rival terrorist gangs, the Haitian National Police (PNH) reports that it has deployed several specialized units, including the Intervention and Public Order Maintenance Corps (CIMO), the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), the Task Force, the Departmental Public Order Maintenance Unit (UDMO), and the SWAT team, accompanied by nine armored vehicles, to Kazo, Carrefour Douya, Terre Noire, and other sensitive areas. The objective is to reinforce the police presence, secure these areas, and limit the movements of terrorist gangs seeking to destabilize the region. Pastor Arrested On Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Haitian Pastor Arsenio Jiménez. He had been the subject of an arrest warrant since October 30, 2021, issued by Haitian authorities for the alleged rape of a minor in 2019. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Jiménez, who resided in Dajabón, Dominican Republic, continued to practice his ministry. His arrest was carried out by agents of the specialized Polifront unit in the Wanament border area, after the pastor had crossed the border between Dajabón and Haiti. New Haitian Embassy near the Vatican On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Foreign Minister Raina Forbin, inaugurated the new premises of the Haitian Embassy to the Holy See, located in the immediate vicinity of the Vatican walls. "This is not simply a change of address," declared the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, Marie Guerline Janvier, adding that it demonstrated "a political will to strengthen the traditional and privileged relationship with the Holy See." Quito : 2nd National Inline Freestyle Ranking Haitian rollerblader Pierre-Louis Gesny will participate in the 2nd National Inline Freestyle Ranking from May 15 to 17, 2026, in Quito. Originally from Cité Soleil, Gesny Pierre-Louis has lived in Chile since 2017 and is now among the most prominent Haitian athletes in international freestyle rollerblading competitions. As a reminder, in 2025, he also distinguished himself on the Latin American circuit with several gold medals.
