Arrest of Two Suspected Criminals

As part of the investigation into the murder of police officer Daphney Similien Lauture on November 26, 2025, in Cassagnol 19, agents from the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Affairs Bureau of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police, following a surveillance operation, arrested Cleeff Jean Louis and Ludelis Désir, alias "Bob" in the Cassagnol 10 and 22 neighborhoods of Delmas 75. They are accused of alleged complicity in homicide and armed robbery.

Private Vocational Training Centers : 72% Unaccredited

72% of the 427 registered private vocational training centers are not accredited, reveals a census published by the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP), which raises concerns about the quality of training. Accreditation of the centers remains a priority for the INFP.

Rain of Appointments

During the Council of Ministers meeting on May 6, 2026, the Government appointed several Directors General, notably to head the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry for the Status of Women, and the Artibonite Valley Development Organization (ODVA). Departmental delegates were also appointed in the departments of Artibonite, West, and South. At the same time, interim agents were appointed in several municipalities, including Cité Soleil, Terre-Neuve, Cayes-Jacmel, and Grand-Goâve, while deputy delegates were appointed for the districts of Gonaïves, Port-de-Paix and Trou-du-Nord.

Refresher Training on the iSanté+ Software

At La Paix University Hospital, PAHO/WHO organized refresher training on the iSanté+ software for 75 healthcare personnel, including physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and records management teams. The objective was to optimize the use of the existing electronic medical record during outpatient consultations in order to improve the quality of care through more efficient and coordinated management of health information.
