The Marchand Dessalines police station was completely destroyed. "Viv Ansanm" : More than 10 terrorists killed and others wounded

More than ten bandits were killed and several others wounded during the forceful operations carried out against the “Viv Ansanm” terrorist coalition in the town of Seguin and its surroundings, confirmed Municipal Commissioner Garry Victor, spokesperson for the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the Southeast Department, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Reopening of Justinien University Hospital

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Justinien University Hospital (HUJ) reopened after a closure of more than three weeks triggered by a strike by contract staff, including doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and support personnel, who represent nearly 80% of the hospital's workforce. These contract workers were demanding an average of 15 months of back pay. Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health, confirmed to the contract employees that the checks were being printed. He also called the hospital closure irresponsible, as it deprived patients of all care, including emergency care.

Opening of the Venice Biennale
