Towards a New National Migration Policy

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, Raina Forbin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, closed the Colloquium on Migration. Presentations and discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening the protection of Haitian migrants, improving consular services, and ensuring more active participation of the diaspora in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies. Minister Forbin emphasized the need to make migration a driver of cooperation, prosperity, and development. She also announced the creation of a National Commission tasked with developing a new national migration policy within two months. This Commission will bring together representatives from the government, the private sector, civil society, academia, the diaspora, and international partners.

Agricultural, Gastronomic, and Craft Fair

To mark Agriculture and Labor Day, the National School Canteen Program (PNCS) is organizing the 2nd edition of its Agricultural, Gastronomic, and Craft Fair, which will be held at its headquarters in Delmas 75 on May 1st and 2nd, 2026, under the theme: "Let's feed children local food to boost national production." The program includes : Exhibitions, sales, and culinary demonstrations from all 10 departments of the country; panel discussions and debates with students; a recipe competition; and cultural activities.

SPNH-17 Coordinator Sanctioned

The SPNH-17, the Haitian National Police Union, strongly condemns the decision to demote its Coordinator, Inspector Garry Jean Baptiste, through an administrative measure that raises serious questions about the transparency, legality, and true motivations behind this action. Today, instead of providing solutions for police officers and the public, the authorities are using administrative repression against those who dare to speak out. The SPNH-17 demands: The immediate review of this decision; Respect for the Coordinator's rights and an end to all forms of administrative reprisals against police officers.

Unacceptable situation during the FICA vs. Baltimore match

In a statement, Marie Élise Obas, Secretary General of the Haitian Football League, strongly condemns the unacceptable situation that occurred during the match between FICA and Baltimore, played on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Parc Saint-Victor, as part of the final day of the D1 Paryaj Lakay playoffs. Unsportsmanlike conduct was observed against some key players in the match. The National Union of Football Referees of Haiti (SYNAFH) demands that the Haitian Football League (LHF) immediately initiate disciplinary proceedings with the utmost rigor, as well as legal proceedings, so that justice is served and the victims receive compensation.

Crisis : New Think Tank

Haitian and international experts from the fields of security, defense, justice, and governance have launched the Haiti Security Think Tank and Action Group (GRASH), whose mission is to contribute to finding solutions to the persistent security crisis in the country, according to its coordinator, former Colonel Himmler Rébu.
