Over $10 million USD invested in Haiti, a new factory is being built at CODEVI

On Tuesday, April 15, 2026, the Haitian government took another step in its economic recovery strategy with the signing of the agreement to establish the ALPLA HAITI S.A. plant within the CODEVI Industrial Development Company (CODEVI) free trade zone in Ouanaminthe (Northeast).

This foreign direct investment, totaling over US$10.2 million, demonstrates the confidence of international partners and the tangible results of reforms undertaken to improve the business climate in Haiti.

ALPLA Haiti S.A. is a new subsidiary of the international ALPLA Group (of Austrian origin), a world leader (30 years in operation) with a presence in more than 45 countries. The ALPLA Group specializes in the manufacture of bottles, caps, injection-molded parts, and innovative packaging systems for numerous sectors. This project is part of the ALPLA Group's expansion strategy, which emphasizes sustainable management and the use of recycled materials.

This new factory will contribute to job creation and the transfer of technical skills, thereby strengthening Haiti's human capital and industrial competitiveness. Typically, an industrial production unit of this size can generate several hundred direct jobs in molding, logistics, and maintenance operations.

James Monazard, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the strategic role of the Far North, particularly the Northeast, in the growth dynamic driven by the Government. He also reaffirmed the executive branch's commitment to facilitating investment through concrete measures: administrative simplification, strengthening the legal framework, incentives, and support for investors.
