Haiti - FLASH : 4.0 earthquake off the coast of Petite-Rivière-de-Nippes

Yesterday, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale was recorded at 4:09:23 in the afternoon, at sea, 5 km northeast of Petite-Rivière-de-Nippes (Dept. of Nippes). The epicenter was located at 18.51 degrees north latitude and 73.27 degrees west longitude 8 km northeast of Anse-à-Veau (Dept. of Nippes), 44km south of Île de la Gonâve (Dept. West), 21km north-west of Miragôane (Dept. of Nippes) at a depth of 9 km. Civil Protection (DPC) has so far reported no loss of life, injuries or damage in relation to this seismic event.
