Haiti - FLASH : 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Nippes

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 5:33:02 PM, an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Nippes region, 44 km southeast of Jérémie (Grand'Anse Department). The epicenter was located at 18.50 degrees North latitude and 73.72 degrees West longitude, 24 km northwest of Cavaillon (South Department), and 24 km southwest of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes-Veau (Nippes Department), at a depth of 10 km. The Civil Protection (DPC) has not yet reported any loss of life or damage related to this seismic event.
