iciHaiti - PNCS : Towards a new dynamic in school feeding

On February 26, Augustin Antoine, the Minister of National Education, appointed Lucson Philémond as the new General Coordinator of the National School Canteen Program (PNCS). He replaces Kevenot Dorvil in this position (November 2024 - February 2026).

For the Minister, this change in leadership focuses on three essential pillars : transparency, administrative rigor, and social impact.

"School canteens go beyond simply providing food; they are a lever for success. As the saying goes : Timoun grangou pa ka aprann. By guaranteeing this meal, the State reduces inequalities and promotes academic concentration," Antoine emphasized.

Holding a degree in computer science and a degree in logistics from the Integrated Caribbean University (UNICA), Lucson Philémond brings crucial technical expertise to the management of the program's distribution flows.

In his inaugural address, the new Coordinator pledged to act with humility and determination, implementing the National School Feeding Policy; optimizing the supply chain for broader coverage; and strengthening accountability to technical and financial partners.

Demonstrating his commitment to swift action, Philémond visited Gérald Bataille's warehouses the day after his appointment. Accompanied by his technical team, he met with managers to assess operational constraints.

This first official visit reflects a proactive approach aimed at identifying bottlenecks and ensuring that aid reaches schoolchildren's plates without delay.
