Cap-Haitien : Landslide, 5 victims

Following the heavy rains recorded since Tuesday, February 24 in Cap-Haitien, several areas of the city are currently affected by significant flooding, impacting residential neighborhoods as well as certain strategic roads. In the Bassico area (Bel-Air), a landslide caused by the fall of a rock. Provisional assessment : 3 houses damaged and 5 people seriously injured. Furthermore, various areas of the municipality are experiencing significant accumulations of water due to the saturation of the evacuation canals. The Municipality, with the support of the Ministry of Public Works, has initiated emergency interventions aimed at clearing the canals and drainage corridors and clearing the main roads. The municipal crisis management unit is activated. Municipal services, in coordination with Civil Protection and departmental authorities, ensure continuous monitoring of the situation and intervene in affected areas. New Minister of the Economy installed

On Wednesday February 25, 2026, Serge-Gabriel Collin was officially installed as Minister of the Economy and Finance. New Management at the DGI

Chesnel François was officially installed at the head of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI). ONA : 2 promotions to the IT department

On Wednesday February 25, 2026, the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA), Edwing Charles, Chief of Staff of Director General Ronald Bazile, installed two executives at the head of the IT Systems Department (DSI). Carlos Philippe was promoted to Director I, while Marc Antoine Valcourt rose to the position of Director II within the IT department.
