Kidnappings on the Rise

For several weeks, kidnappings have been on the rise again in Port-au-Prince. Delmas 19, 31, 33, and 75 are particularly affected. Among the hostages are a priest, a lawyer, and a judge.

Carnival Activities Funded by Terrorists ?

A video circulating on social media shows Johnson André, alias "Izo" leader of the "5 Segond" terrorist gang, participating in and financing carnival activities in the Village de Dieu neighborhood of Port-au-Prince. To date, Haitian authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the criminal leader's presence at carnival-related activities or concerning the possible funding of the festivities by armed groups.

Valentine's Day : Greetings from the Haitian National Police

Erasmus+ : Two Students in Spain

On Friday, February 14, 2026, Ambassador Wooldy Edson Louidor, accompanied by Minister-Counselor Frantz Dorsainville, welcomed two Erasmus+ program participants to the Haitian Embassy in Madrid. They were en route to the University of Oviedo. Embassy of Haiti in Canada :

The Embassy of Haiti in Canada informs the Haitian community and the general public that its premises will be closed from Monday, February 16 to Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for the Carnival festivities. Activities will resume on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

Embassy of Haiti in Washington :

The Embassy of Haiti in Washington informs that it will be closed on : Monday, February 16 : Federal Holiday (President’s Day) and Tuesday, February 17, 2026, due to the Carnival holiday in Haiti. The Embassy will resume its regular activities on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Embassy of Haiti in Mexico :

The Embassy informs the Haitian community that it will be closed on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17, 2026, for the Carnival celebrations in Haiti.

Consulate of Montreal :

The Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal informs the Haitian community in Quebec, in particular, and the public in general, that the office will be open until noon on Monday, February 16, 2026, and will be closed on Tuesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for the Carnival celebrations in Haiti. The Consular Post will resume its regular activities on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FNE : Distribution of a Second Batch of Checks to Parents
