Haiti - Cooperation : DINEPA meeting at the Cuban Embassy in Haiti

Théophil Ostinvil, Director General of the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), met with Cuban Ambassador Ricardo Garcia Nápoles at the Cuban Embassy in Haiti.

During this meeting, discussions focused primarily on bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Cuba, particularly in the Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) sector, and the main achievements and strategic priorities of this cooperation.

With a view to further supporting national efforts for the sustainable improvement of DWS services in Haiti, the two parties discussed the possibility of implementing a capacity-building plan for DINEPA staff, utilizing Cuban expertise.

Furthermore, this meeting provided an opportunity to review certain administrative matters related to the existing collaboration between DINEPA and Cuban experts working in the sector.

With this new meeting, Théophil Ostinvil reaffirms his commitment to strengthening technical and institutional partnerships that can contribute to the development of the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector, for the benefit of the Haitian people.
