Haiti - FLASH : Our U-17 Grenadiers qualify for the Qatar 2026 World Cup

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the final match of the qualifying phase of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2026, on the pitch of the Cementos Prograso stadium in Guatemala City, our Grenadiers U-17 in Group C, faced the "Matao" the Guatemalan selection, leader of the Group. Summary : After 90 minutes of intense suspense, and following a relentless effort, our young Grenadiers gave their all against Guatemala's "Mataão" and qualified for the U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 thanks to their 2-1 victory against Guatemala.

For the second consecutive time, our U-17 Grenadiers have secured their place in Qatar for the 2026 World Cup!

From the opening minutes, the "Matao" were very aggressive. However, in the 7th minute, Sonson Jean-Baptiste opened the scoring for Haiti [1-0] with a header from the right side of the six-yard box, finding the top corner after a well-placed free kick from Miguel Joseph following a set piece.

The "Matao" redoubled their efforts and in the 11th minute equalized [1-1] with a close-range header from Patrick Arana into the bottom left corner, assisted by Hensen Chacón from a corner.

In the 22nd minute, Sonson Jean-Baptiste restored Haiti's lead [2-1] with a right-footed shot from the center of the penalty area, finding the top right corner after a pass from Marvenly Exilas. Despite several dangerous chances for both sides, the score remained unchanged at halftime.

Upon returning from the locker room, the Guatemalans continued to put pressure on the Haitian defense. But despite several dangerous attacks from the "Matao," our Grenadiers held firm. A high-tension match that ended with a sigh of relief from our Grenadiers after the final score of victory.
