Haiti - Politic : The Achievements of the Minister of the Status of Women (video)

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, Ms. Pedrica Saint Jean, participated in the program "Tuesdays of the Nation" at the Prime Minister's Office, where she discussed the holding of eleven departmental conferences, from December 4th to 10, 2025, and the National Conference on Women's Political Participation and Electoral Violence, organized on December 12, 13, and 14, 2025, in Les Cayes. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46356-haiti-elections-meeting-on-the-political-participation-of-women.html

She also spoke about the graduation ceremony for 289 single mothers and women on January 25th, as part of the "Socio-economic Integration of Single Mothers and Women" project (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46723-haiti-training-graduation-of-289-women-beneficiaries-of-the-socio-economic-integration-project.html), the creation of four (4) Women's Centers to be established in four departments of the country : West, Grand'Anse, Center, and Artibonite, to strengthen the protection, resilience, and empowerment of victims, particularly in the context of a security and humanitarian crisis, as well as the launch of the 8919 emergency hotline dedicated to supporting and protecting survivors of violence.

In concluding her remarks, Minister Saint Jean highlighted all the actions undertaken by the institution she leads, while reaffirming the State's commitment, through her Ministry, to working towards the rights and empowerment of women and girls in Haiti.
