Haiti - FLASH : 2 planes hit by bullets, reactions from AAN and OFNAC

In a joint note, the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) and the National Airport Authority (AAN) inform the public in general, operators and users of airport infrastructure in particular, that a serious security incident occurred on Sunday January 26, 2026, at Toussaint Louverture International Airport involving two aircraft of the airline ZED Airlines S.A. at the time of their landing https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46719-haiti-news-zapping.html

Both aircraft came under fire while carrying out their final approach and landing maneuvers, rescue and emergency services were deployed immediately and technical teams are currently carrying out a full assessment of the situation to ensure maximum safety for the resumption of operations.

This attack, the perpetrators of which have not been identified, gave rise to an immediate alert to the national security authorities to launch a full investigation, and appropriate emergency measures were taken with a view to the establishment of a reinforced security and safety system.

OFNAC and AAN strongly condemn this act which endangers the lives of passengers and crews and compromises the security of Haitian airspace.

This serious incident suspends flights on the only operational international connection at Toussaint Louverture airport, used in particular by the family reunification program between Haiti and Brazil.
