20 days before the end of its mandate, the CPT consults

Sunday January 18, 20 days from the end of its mandate (February 7, 2026) the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) launched a national political dialogue, with the objective of finding a Haitian consensus around a governance mechanism capable of ensuring the stability of the country after February 7, 2026, while guaranteeing the continuity of the electoral process and the restoration of security. In this context, EDE, "Pitit Dessalin", "Ansanm Nou Fò", the historic Agreement of August 14, RENAPA and the “Ayisyen pou Ayiti” Party were received at the Welcome Villa. Discussions will continue Monday January 19, 2026 with COPPOS-Haiti and allies, KOREPAD, as well as representatives of the Montana and December 21 Accords.

Jacmel : Launch of Carnival

Sunday January 18, 2026 the Jacmel Town Hall and the Organizing Committee officially launched the carnival season around the theme "Jacmel in our dreams ! Jakmèl nan rèv nou !" The Town Hall and the Carnival Committee invite all stakeholders as well as the population to mobilize so that this edition becomes a major cultural event reflecting the dreams and aspirations of the Jacmelian community.

PAP : Cleaning of the city center

Sunday January 18, 2026, the cleaning operations started by the police and the Task Force in the city center, particularly in the area of the Ti Fanny Restaurant, continued. In fact, the police cleared several axes of the Grand Rue and the Lycée Toussaint Louverture area. They also removed the barricades erected on public roads with the aim of obstructing traffic.

Cooperation with Mexico

Jesús Cisneros, Ambassador of Mexico to Haiti, met Bertrand Sinal, the Minister of Public Health to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The importance of ensuring access to basic social services throughout the territory was at the center of the discussions.

MUPANAH : Employees trained in Art

Jean-Claude Legagneur, the Director General of the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) launched a series of training courses on art, intended for his employees, around the theme "Discovering art : styles and major figures from Haiti and the world". This six-month program is held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. The training takes place through the projection of videos, the consultation of documents, the intervention of specialists and enriching discussions.

Literacy : Remuneration agreement with 14 instructors

Mozart Clerisson, the Secretary of State for Literacy, signed a remuneration agreement with 14 instructors working in literacy centers in the commune of Pétion-ville. The agreement details the responsibilities of the instructors and those of the Office of the Secretary of State for Literacy, and specifies the remuneration that the instructors will receive after evaluating participants who have spent six months at the literacy center.
