Singer Garcia Delva accused

The Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince issued an official summons to former senator and singer Garcia Delva to appear at the Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., following a complaint filed against him by Carl Paul Barvensky. The complainant mentions alleged acts of breach of trust, fraud and criminal conspiracy.

Journalists victims of BOID agents

SPNH-17, the Haitian National Police union, received several images showing journalists who were allegedly victims of violence by certain police officers from the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID) on the Champ de Mars, on January 8, 2026, during operations against gangs in downtown Port-au-Prince. According to the union, one of the journalists had to go to a hospital in the capital to receive treatment.

Registration : 9th AF State Exams

The Ministry of National Education invites all school directors, both public and private, to complete the formalities, from January 12 to 30, 2026, for the registration of candidates for the official examinations of the 9th Fundamental Year (AF), namely :

- Pay the registration fee of 1,500 gourdes for each student participating in the 9th AF exams.

- Bring the payment slip as well as the registration file for 9th grade students to the Departmental Directorate of Education, so that it can authorize the school to finalize the registration for the number of paid candidates;

The student registration file must include : "the registration form, a copy of the birth certificate (baptistère) or an extract from the candidate's archives, proof that the candidate has passed the previous level (copy of the notebook or certificate of the 8th AF, or copy of the 9th AF form if it is a failed candidate)."

AGD : 13 billion in December up

The General Administration of Customs (AGD) announced that it had collected more than 13 billion gourdes during the month of December 2025, an increase of more than 145 million gourdes compared to 2024 for the same period.
