Montrouis : Piatre attacked by the Canaan Gang On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, members of the Canaan gang once again attacked the locality of Piatre, in the commune of Montrouis. According to initial reports, several houses were set on fire. Diaspora France : “REZILYANS” Exhibition The Consulate General of Haiti in Paris was pleased to host the "REZILYANS" exhibition, organized in partnership with the National School of Arts (ENARTS). This exhibition aimed to promote Haitian culture through painting, photography, and artistic creations, showcasing the strength, identity, and talent of our artists. A large audience attended this event, which was enriched by the presence of Haitian artists working in France, including sculptor Fritz Gérald Muscadin and artists from the PROM’ART collective. DR : Haitian Embassy Closed Days The Haitian Embassy in the Dominican Republic informs the public that, for the holiday season, its offices will be closed on the following days : December 25; December 31 (from noon); January 1st (Independence Day); January 2 (Heroes' Day); and January 5, 2026 (Three Kings' Day in the Dominican Republic). Services will resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the usual times. FADHRIS Community Hospital Center Recognized as a University Hospital The management of the Community Hospital Center for Women in Association for the Development of Haiti and for Strengthening Social Integration (FADHRIS) announces that the facility is now recognized as a university hospital. As such, the FADHRIS Hospital Center welcomes interns at all levels of study, as well as resident physicians, nurses, and pharmacists in social work for the 2025-2026 academic year, as part of their academic and professional training. The OPC Elected by Acclamation to the AFCNDH: During the 7th Statutory Congress of the Francophone Association of National Human Rights Commissions (AFCNDH), held in Rabat, Morocco, the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC) was elected by acclamation to the AFCNDH Board of Directors, which brings together more than thirty Francophone national human rights institutions worldwide. Haiti's presence on the Board will contribute to the sharing of best practices and the development of common strategies for human rights within the Francophone community. HL/ HaitiLibre
