Haiti - Telecommunication : Resignation of CEO of «Voilà»

Robin J. Padberg, CEO of Communication Cellulaire d'Haïti S.A. (ComCEL), one of the largest telecommunications companies, operating under the trade name Voilà, announced yesterday his resignation after five years at the head of the company.

Pierre E. Liautaud, Vice President Regional Operations of the head office of Voilà, Trilogy International Partners, based in Seattle, was appointed Acting CEO of the company, as successor to Mr. Padberg.

"We are saddened by the decision of Robin, but we are extremely grateful for his contributions to Voilà over the last five years," stated Brad Horwitz, President and CEO of Trilogy International Partners. "Robin's leadership in our society, especially in the wake of the earthquake almost two years ago, has been exemplary and we wish him success in his future endeavors."

In a highly competitive environment, Mr. Padberg was able to rejuvenated the image of the company by bringing together a team of young dynamic professionals who have changed the culture of the company through their hard work, to their integrity and an unwavering faith in what the company represents. Within a year, the team led by Mr. Padberg has managed to breathe new life to the brand and launched the offensive "green".

Mr. Padberg is especially proud of the company's ability "to integrate the daily life of people through products and services adapted to their needs [...] telecommunications is the most dynamic sector of the Haitian economy and lead Voilà is certainly one of the best and most challenging jobs I could imagine."

Mr. Paberg did not mention new projects, simply stating that he wanted to spent time with his family while exploring ways to contribute positively to the reconstruction of the nation.
