SEMANAH Denial

On Friday, December 12, 2025, the Haitian Maritime and Navigation Service (SEMANAH) formally denied reports of an alleged shipwreck off the coast of Gommier, in the Grand4Anse department, which supposedly resulted in the deaths of approximately forty people. "After thorough investigations conducted in coordination with the Coast Guard and our regional offices, no shipwreck or loss of life was recorded in the area in question."

15 Years of Economic Stagnation

In its report on public finances over the past fifteen years (2009-2024), the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA) reveals that "[...] the Haitian economy has become mired in prolonged stagnation, showing an average annual growth of 0.07%."

Afreximbank: US$500,000 Donation to Haiti
