43 Police Officers Killed in Combat From January to November 2025, 43 police officers, 7 soldiers from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), and 2 agents of the multinational force were killed in combat, according to the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH). Serious Accident in Caracol The Association of Haitian Industries (ADIH) expresses its profound sadness and deep dismay following the serious accident that occurred earlier this week in Caracol, where a bus transporting workers from Limonade to the Caracol Industrial Park overturned on a curve, resulting in the deaths of at least 5 passengers and approximately 20 others injured, several critically. OPC : Winners of the Writing and Reporting Competition The Office of Citizen Protection (OPC) presented the awards to the winners of the 9th edition of its writing and reporting competition on human rights. In the journalists category, the first prize was awarded to Esther Kimberly Bazile and Jonasson Odigène, journalists at Le Nouvelliste, for their report on women and girls who are victims of sexual violence in displacement camps. In the student category, the prize went to Roobens Isma, a student at the Faculty of Law and Economics and also a journalist at Le Nouvelliste. The prize for the high school student category was awarded to Lisa Fahimie Joseph, from Collège Saint-Louis de Bourdon. The OPC also announced a full scholarship for the high school student winner, while the winners in the journalists and students categories will receive full-time contracts within the institution.
