Illegal Fuel Storage Burns, Numerous Victims

On Saturday morning, December 6, a fire broke out in an illegal storage facility containing a large quantity of fuel destined for the black market, in a working-class neighborhood of Fort-Liberté. The explosion of a motorcycle transporting the fuel spread the fire, which destroyed at least five houses. Sixteen people suffered severe burns and were rushed to the Fort-Liberté hospital.

PNH Denial

"The Haitian National Police (PNH) Communications Department formally denies the publication, on social media, of a fake press release by malicious individuals. This fake release announces new academic exams [on December 28] for the formation of the 37th promotion of the PNH." The police institution disclaims all responsibility for this manipulative and false allegation, which aims only to divert public attention from the efforts undertaken by the High Command in the fight against armed gangs and their supporters.

Assassination of the President : Words by Laurent Lamothe

"Today marks the 53rd month since President Jovenel Moïse was taken from us. Time passes, but neither the pain, nor the questions, nor the quest for truth fade. We remember a man who deeply believed that Haiti could rise again, despite the storms, despite the threats, despite the isolation. His voice has been silenced, but his struggle lives on. As Nelson Mandela said, 'Death is nothing, but to live defeated and without glory is to die every day.' 53 months later, we refuse to live defeated. We continue to demand justice, truth, and dignity for Jovenel," Laurent Lamothe.

Following the draw for the 2026 World Cup, the Haitian National Police (PNH) extends its warmest congratulations and unwavering support to the Haitian men's national football team. Cap-Haitien : Rehabilitation of an Agricultural Warehouse

The Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the French Embassy in Haiti, is rehabilitating an agricultural warehouse in Cap-Haïtien. This project strengthens local agricultural services and helps communities maintain their livelihoods, rather than leaving to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Celebration of International Volunteer Day

On Friday, December 5, 2025, as part of the celebration of International Volunteer Day, the Central Departmental Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) pays tribute to all volunteers in the country, but especially to the volunteers in the Central Department who have experienced a particularly difficult year. Our volunteers have always been there whenever needed, but this year, for more than eight months, in managing the needs of people forced to flee their homes, the Civil Protection volunteers and all other volunteers in the department have been unparalleled. "On behalf of the Central Departmental Directorate of Civil Protection, I thank you. Thank you for your commitment to Civil Protection, thank you for your dedication to humanitarian causes, thank you for your sacrifice in managing internally displaced persons… Thank you, thank you, thank you !" Magareth Multy, Director of the Central Departmental Directorate of Civil Protection.
