USA : Major Reduction in Work Permit Duration

On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, the Trump administration announced a reduction in the validity period of work permits for refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrants with legal protection in the United States. These permits will be reduced from the current 5 years to 18 months, allowing U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), an agency of the Department of Homeland Security, to more frequently screen immigrants when renewing their work permits. This new measure will apply to work permit applications filed after Friday, December 5, as well as those being processed on that date.

Pont-Sondé Massacre, Nearly 60 Victims

According to several human rights organizations, based on testimonies, the provisional death toll of the massacre perpetrated by the Gran Grif de Savien gang in Pont-Sondé on Saturday, November 29, 2025, is over 25 dead and 30 wounded.

Cap-Haitien : The "Kite Yo" Watershed Rehabilitated

In Cap-Haitien, the Haitian Ministry of Agriculture, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the French Embassy have completed the rehabilitation of the "Kite Yo" watershed. This remarkable collaborative effort brought together Haitians deported from the Dominican Republic and local residents to conserve the soil, protect their environment, and rebuild a more prosperous landscape.

Grand'Anse : 42 Individuals Arrested:

On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, the Departmental Directorate of the Haitian National Police (PNH) of Grande Anse, in its report, revealed that no fewer than 42 individuals were arrested between November 1st and 30, 2025. These individuals are accused of, among other things, rape, death threats, defamation, resisting arrest, theft, fraud, breach of trust, murder, and attempted murder.
