Haiti, one of Trump's targets

Two New Haitian Ambassadors

On Monday, December 1st, 2025, during a Cabinet meeting, two new Haitian ambassadors were officially appointed : Guerda Benoît (ex-wife of René Préval) as Haitian Ambassador to Ecuador, and Dern Jovens Bonhomme as Haitian Ambassador to the Bahamas.

Fear of a Political Vacuum

The International Observatory for Democracy and Governance (OIDG) is concerned about the expiration of the mandate of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), set for February 7, 2026. According to the electoral calendar established by the Provisional Electoral Council, the CPT will no longer participate in its implementation after this date. "While the withdrawal of the CPT itself is not problematic, the lack of clear mechanisms to ensure its replacement, as well as that of the Government—both exceptional and not provided for by the Constitution—poses a real problem. This legal vacuum risks leading to a deadlock and increased uncertainty, exacerbating the governance crisis and the already high social tensions in Haiti."

Pont-Sondé : More than 20 dead and many injured

This is the toll of the attack by members of the "Gran Grif" gang on the night of November 29-30, 2025, in Pont-Sondé. The Collective denounces the silence of public institutions.
