The Embassy of Haiti in the Bahamas informs that Dern Jovens Bonhomme, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Haiti, presented, Friday, November 28, 2025, his letters of credence, officially accrediting him to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, to Her Excellency Cynthia A. Pratt, Governor General and representative of His Majesty King Charles III.

This protocol ceremony marks the official start of Bonhomme's mission in the Bahamas. Through this act, Haiti reaffirms its desire to strengthen its diplomatic presence within the Commonwealth and to consolidate bilateral relations in areas of common interest.

The new Ambassador Dern Jovens Bonhomme reiterated the commitment of the Republic of Haiti to promote dialogue between the two governments, to defend national interests and to work to expand Haitian-Bahamian cooperation, in a spirit of mutual respect, regional solidarity and lasting partnership.

He stressed that this accreditation opened a new phase of collaboration aimed in particular at deepening exchanges, developing joint initiatives and supporting the Haitian community established in the Bahamas.
