National Port Authority on Maximum Alert On Friday, November 21, 2025, the National Port Authority (APN) was placed on maximum alert following an attack on the Port of Port-au-Prince facilities, after a breach was made in a section of the perimeter wall at La Saline. Port security, supported by soldiers from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), defended the integrity of the facilities and repelled the attack. Note that this attack was preceded, since Monday, by gunfire near the facilities and repeated attacks against armored vehicles transporting employees. Varreux Terminal Reopens On Friday, November 21, the Varreux oil terminal, inaccessible since Monday, November 17, due to the blocking of access roads by armed men from the criminal coalition "Viv ansanm" (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46253-haiti-flash-varreux-oil-terminal-blocked-no-shortage-but.html), reopened. This comes at the end of a sprawling case involving illegal campaign contributions, clandestine lobbying, and witness tampering. Terrorists Thwarted in Lévêque On Thursday, November 20, 2025, an incursion by armed terrorists in Lévêque, a commune in Cabaret, was repelled by the Haitian National Police (PNH) and members of the People's Brigade. Several assailants were killed, some victims of the "Bwa Kalé" movement. Reinforcements from the Village de Dieu Unity group, linked to terrorist gangs, were also routed and neutralized. In retaliation, the attackers set fire to a gas station in Bercy. The rapid deployment of police reinforcements allowed for a return to full control of the situation. Japan Humanitarian Aid : $1 Million for Haiti The Japanese government has granted emergency aid of one million US dollars to Haiti in response to the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Melissa, which struck the Caribbean region. Through this emergency aid, Japan will implement humanitarian assistance in the food sector via the World Food Programme (WFP). New President Elected at the ANMH Richard Widmaier, Director of Radio and Television Metropole, is the newly elected President of the National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH).
