Haiti - BRH : Training on financial market development

On November 14 and 15, 2025, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) hosted representatives from the Savings and Credit Unions (CEC) of the Greater South region in Les Cayes for a training session on the use of the Central Securities Depository (CSD), a key tool for modernizing and strengthening Haiti's financial market.

The Central Securities Depository (CSD) operates in close coordination with the Automated Transfer System (ATS), two key financial market infrastructures. The CSD allows for the registration, safekeeping, and transfer of securities, including Treasury bills, while the ATS ensures secure, real-time clearing and settlement of payments, while also facilitating liquidity management.

This training is part of the Financial Market Development Project, whose main objectives are to modernize the Haitian financial system, increase liquidity, strengthen investor confidence, and make Treasury bills more accessible to the general public.

The participation of the CECs in this session will allow them to fully play their role as Securities Account Keepers, improve the quality of their services, and effectively prepare for the operationalization of the Financial Market Development project.
