Haiti - Les Cayes : Launch of a regional office for issuing police certificates

Under the leadership of Inspector General Justin Marc, the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) inaugurated a new regional office in Les Cayes on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. This office, integrated within the Southern Departmental Directorate, is dedicated exclusively to issuing police certificates to residents of the Greater South.

The primary objective of this initiative is to spare residents of the region the long, costly, and dangerous journeys to Port-au-Prince. By offering this local service directly within their department, the DCPJ allows southern residents to save significant amounts of time, money, and energy—a development that has been very well received by the population.

The launch ceremony took place in the presence of numerous local authorities, including Wilnair Dormevil, Government Commissioner; Claire Daphnée France, Mayor of Les Cayes; Jocelyn Lucian, Dean of the Court; Wousevel Louis, President of the Bar Association; and Marc Gregor of the Anti-Narcotics Brigade (BLTS).

This new facility demonstrates the Haitian National Police's (PNH) commitment to strengthening the quality of its services, improving its relationship with citizens, and promoting modern, effective, and accountable police governance.
