Haiti - Les Cayes : A historic milestone for Haitian aviation

Haiti - Les Cayes : A historic milestone for Haitian aviation

Monday, November 10, 2025, will forever be etched in the history of Haitian aviation and the city of Les Cayes. IBC Air officially inaugurated its first commercial flight (N29 IBC, capacity 50 passengers) with 30 passengers on board, directly connecting Les Cayes to Miami. This provides residents of southern Haiti and the Haitian diaspora with a fast, regular, and reliable link to the United States.

The Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening national air transport, modernizing infrastructure, and ensuring efficient services for the population. This strategic initiative is part of a vision of proximity, mobility, and international connectivity, placing the interests of citizens at the heart of public action.

This major milestone marks a historic turning point for the city of Les Cayes and for Haitian aviation, illustrating the State's determination to meet the needs of the population. It reflects the political will to make air transport a concrete driver of development, prosperity, and regional integration.

According to Carmélie Montuma Ismaël, a representative of IBC Airways, about twenty passengers with tickets were waiting to board their flight to Florida. Regarding ticket prices, Ismaël indicated that a round-trip ticket costs between US$1,300 and US$1,500, assuring that adjustments would soon be made to improve the price. Flights to Antoine Simon International Airport in Les Cayes are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with round-trip service between Miami and Les Cayes.
