Team EU : 30 Tons of Aid Team Europe (Europe, Spain, France) welcomed a humanitarian flight funded by the European Union, carrying over 30 tons of humanitarian aid from Panama. This essential equipment is destined for people affected by Hurricane Melissa in Haiti and will be distributed by UNICEF, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Several partner organizations contributed to this aid, including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Vocational Training in Aeronautics ? Réginald Guignard, Director General of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), met with representatives of the Mobile Training Center for Arts and Crafts (CEFOMAM) to explore avenues for collaboration to facilitate young people's access to vocational training and promote their integration into the aeronautics sector. OFNAC thus reaffirms its commitment to supporting and mentoring youth and strengthening local skills within Haitian aeronautical services. Port-au-Prince City Hall : Immediate Sanctions The Port-au-Prince City Hall informs the public that it has become aware of a video circulating on social media showing some City Hall employees improperly dumping waste on public roads. The General Directorate wishes to clarify that the employees involved have been formally identified and that immediate administrative sanctions have already been taken against them, in accordance with the City Hall's internal regulations. Qatar : Laurent Saint-Cyr met with Bishop Eugène Nugent Laurent Saint-Cyr, President pro tempore and Coordinator of the Transition Council, met with Archbishop Eugène Nugent, Apostolic Nuncio to Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, to discuss the urgent appointment of a new Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti. Saint-Cyr also expressed his desire to obtain the Holy See's support for organizing an international solidarity conference for Haiti. Administrative delays hinder job creation Built with a mixed Haitian-foreign investment estimated at over $60 million, the Varreux container terminal has been ready for five years but remains inactive. "All the facilities are ready. All that's missing is the presence of customs officials to get started. Five years of waiting is too long !" declared David Ware, representative of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), during an interview on a radio station in the capital, urging Haitian authorities to deploy customs agents to the Varreux container port to allow for its official opening.
