Haiti - Tuesday of the Nation : Latest progress of the Government's social assistance program (video) 22/10/2025 10:00:07
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the 26th edition of "Tuesdays of the Nation" was held at the Prime Minister's Office, focusing on the theme of government social assistance. The guest of honor, Serge Gabriel Colin, Director General of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), presented the latest developments in the Government's Social Support Program, launched on October 10, 2025, and continuing the Haitian Government's efforts to support vulnerable families and support children's education throughout the country. This program aims to support three categories of beneficiaries: parents, vulnerable households, and workers. • Support for parents : More than 50,000 beneficiaries registered on the Ministry of National Education's Student Management Information System (SIGE) are currently receiving financial assistance for the start of the school year. Transfers are made via MonCash and NatCash. To date, 153,290 parents of schoolchildren have already received their grants, including 50,670 via MonCash (Digicel) and 102,620 via Nacash (Natcom). Each beneficiary receives 15,000 Gourdes, along with 380 Gourdes for transaction fees. • Support for vulnerable households : 55,000 people, identified through the Ministry of Social Affairs' Information System (SIMAS), will each receive a 15,000 Gourde allowance. Payments will begin this Wednesday, October 22nd, via the MonCash and NatCash platforms. • Support for workers : 35,000 workers will also receive 15,000 Gourdes in support, directly deposited into their bank accounts starting Monday, October 27th. Through these actions, the Government reaffirms its commitment to protecting the most vulnerable while supporting families in their children's education for the 2025–2026 academic year.
