Haiti - Social : 4 Haitians distinguished in France by the prestigious Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academic Society (list)

The Embassy of Haiti in France is pleased to have, in partnership with the Consulate General of Haiti in Paris, nominated several artists and prominent figures from the Haitian community to be recipients of the diplomas and medals awarded this year by the prestigious Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academic Society.

The Embassy extends its warmest congratulations to the artists honored by the Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academic Society during a ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris, attended by over 800 people.

List of honored Haitians :

- Caymitte Filipo Woodly : sculptor (Silver Medal);

- Kecita Clénard : singer (Silver Medal);

- Wilberte Dessalines : painter and visual artist (Silver Medal);

- Grégoire Chéry : musician and singer (Pewter Medal).

The Diplomatic Mission of Haiti in Paris sincerely thanks the Boar of the Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academic Society and its Awards Committee for agreeing to review the applications submitted by the Embassy and is delighted to establish a strong partnership with this institution.

This initiative, undertaken by the Embassy to recognize artists and personalities from the Haitian community, aims to promote Haiti and showcase the talents of compatriots who promote Haitian culture in France. This initiative also aims to help change the narrative about Haiti in France.

The Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academic Society is a French learned society founded in 1915 by René Flament. Its aim is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of art, science, and literature, and to promote French culture in the artistic, literary, and scientific fields. It awards medals and diplomas at an annual ceremony in Paris and maintains a network of delegates in France and abroad.
