Haiti - FLASH : Warning on job opportunities in the Southeast Asian region

The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam informs the Haitian population, both in Haiti and in the diaspora, that a growing number of job offers are circulating online or through certain private agencies, promising work opportunities in the Southeast Asian region.

While some offers may be legitimate, the Embassy has observed, through its interactions and field reports, a notable increase in cases where individuals are exposed to :

• Illegal or inhumane working conditions;

• Human trafficking and labor trafficking networks;

• Forms of forced labor or modern slavery;

• Even more seriously, suspected cases of organ trafficking.

IMPORTANT :

Before traveling to any of these countries under an employment contract, Haitian citizens are requested to:

Contact the Haitian Embassy in Vietnam to verify the authenticity of the job offer, the recruiting agency, and the proposed stay conditions.

Embassy Contact Information :

Email : amb.vietnam@diplomatie.ht

Phone : 024 7304 5599

Address : D5A-16 Vuon Dao 679 Lac Long Quan Tay Ho Hanoi Vietnam

Opening Hours : Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (local time)

The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of Haitian citizens abroad and urges everyone to exercise vigilance and caution before engaging in any international professional activity.

If in doubt, do not hesitate to consult the Embassy before taking any action.
