Jérémie : New Municipal Commission:

The decree appointing the Jérémie Municipal Commission was published in Le Moniteur Spécial No. 54-B on August 26, 2025. The composition is as follows: Onel Jacinth, President (Mayor), Pierre Wilgo Jean-Baptiste, and Yvrose Pierre Alexandre, Member (Deputy)

Victory [2-0] for the U-17s against the Grand Nord team

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Cap-Haïtien, our young U-17 Grenadiers, as part of their preparation for the Qatar 2025 World Cup, faced the Grand Nord team in a test match, winning [2-0]. This match concluded the first phase of preparation in Haiti. This Thursday, our Grenadiers will leave Haiti for Jamaica to begin the second phase of their preparations (August 28 – September 18) for the Qatar 2025 World Cup.

Towards a vast literacy campaign

On Wednesday, August 27, Mr. Mozart Clérisson, the new Secretary of State for Literacy, convened his secretariat and announced a vast campaign to relaunch training centers throughout the country, scheduled to begin next October, stating, "The more Haitians we have who can read and write, the more likely we are to move forward and advance the economy."

Tribute to René Depestre

A vibrant tribute to René Depestre (101 years old), one of Haiti's greatest writers, will be paid by the National Book Directorate (DNL). His works, translated into 10 languages, continue to shine a spotlight on Haiti. The Haitian Football Federation (DNL) is preparing a major celebration in Jacmel for the 100th birthday of René Depestre, born on August 29, 1924. A century of life, poetry, and literary commitment.
