Haiti - FLASH : Kenscoff antenna site retaken, heavy losses among terrorists

On Monday, August 25, 2025, between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., specialized units from the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) and the Haitian National Police (PNH) conducted a coordinated nighttime operation that allowew the recapture of the strategic telecommunications antenna site of the former Téléco, located in the Obléon area of Kenscoff, from the hands of terrorists led by Chief "lzo2".

"The terrorists suffered heavy losses as the security forces conducted a methodical sweep, moving door to door to neutralize armed resistance. Several individuals attempting to flee or hide were apprehended, while a cache of weapons and other materials was seized," stated Jack Ombaka, Spokesperson for the MSS, in a press release.

As part of this operation, MSS and PNH teams also cleared the roads leading to the Téléco site and Kenscoff, which had been barricaded by terrorists, thus restoring free movement for local communities. In addition, terrorists were driven out of Morne Tranchant, Tèt Bwapen, and the Sainte Hélène orphanage.

The new Director General of the PNH, Vladimir Paraison, and the Commander of the Multinational Mission, Godfrey Otunge, affirmed that the era of gang impunity was coming to an end. They warned that those who continue to bear arms will face decisive action, while other targeted operations are already planned.

According to our information, the Téléco site will benefit from permanent protection.
