Constitution : Restitution of the Ad Hoc Commission

On August 22, 2025, Patrick Pierre-Louis, President of the Bar Council, received a delegation of three members of the ad hoc commission created by decision of the Bar Council and tasked with legally analyzing the initiative of the highest state authorities to establish a new Constitution. The Bar Council had sought, through the establishment of a commission bringing together the Bar's best experts, to provide an analysis of the process initiated by the Executive. A public report on the work of the ad hoc commission will take place on August 29, 2025.

DGM : 2 agents attacked by Haitians

On the evening of Saturday, August 23, two agents of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) were injured in an incident in the area of ​​10th Street, in the municipality of Santa María, province of Montecristi, during a migration control operation. According to the preliminary report, one of the agents was stabbed by Haitians who were resisting arrest. One agent required hospitalization, while the other received minor medical treatment.
