Haiti - Politic : 263 paid interns will join public institutions

This Friday, August 8, 2025, in order to address the emigration of senior executives from public and private institutions and the accelerated brain drain, and to promote the professional integration of young Haitians in both the private sector and public institutions, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) reactivated the Youth Employment Initiation Program (PIJE), a short-term internship program paid by the State (Public Treasury) for young graduates of universities and vocational schools (public and private).

As part of the PIJE, 263 interns from diverse backgrounds attended a day of training and orientation on topics of importance to young people wishing to enter the workforce, including clarifications on the essential elements of the decree organizing the Haitian State as well as the rules of professional conduct and ethics within the Public Administration.

This first cohort will be placed in public institutions during the month of August 2025 as a pilot experiment.
