Sorel Jacinthe, President of the Chamber of Deputies has informed that the final version of the Constitution, revised by the Tripartite Commission, composed of representatives of the Presidency, Parliament and civil society, will be sent Friday to the Head of the State. Recall that the amended text seven months ago contained serious factual errors and deliberate falsification.

The President of the Lower House stressed that the entry into force of the new Constitution [which will have the signature of René Préval] will promote the establishment of the Permanent Electoral Council, whose first task will be the organization of the next partial senatorial elections and local elections as well, among other things, that the recognition of dual citizenship and a greater participation of women in politics [30%].
