On Monday, August 4th, 2025, at 11:02:20 PM, an earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale was recorded near Croix-des-Bouquets (West Department).

The epicenter was located at 18.53° North latitude and 73.59° West longitude, 8 km southeast of the city of Croix-des-Bouquets (West Department), 12 km northeast of Pétion-ville (West Department), and 18 km east of Port-au-Prince (West Department), at a depth of 7 km.

The earthquake was felt by many people in the West Department, reviving memories of 2010 and causing panic among residents of Delmas, Pétion-ville, Tabarre among others... who rushed out of their homes.

No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by the Civil Protection Department (DPC) in connection with this earthquake. "No damage reported at this time. Let's remain vigilant," the DPC stated.
