"Kraze Baryè" : More than 10 bandits killed

Haiti National Police spokesperson Michel Ange Louis Jeune confirmed this Thursday the death of more than ten members of the "Kraze Baryè" gang, led by Vitelhomme Innocent, in a shootout with the police during an operation conducted last Tuesday in Torcel, in the commune of Tabarre.

DR : Rescue of 7 Haitians

Rescuers in the Dominican Republic rescued 17 migrants, including 7 Haitians and 10 Dominicans, who were attempting to illegally enter to Puerto Rico. The small boat carrying them capsized in the province of Altagracia in the DR. Search operations continue.

Kenscoff Victim of a New Attack

The commune of Kenscoff has been the victim of a new attack by the criminal coalition "Viv ansanm." Shots were reported in several locations. The bandits managed to break into the residence of Fritz Mevs in Furcy. The guard narrowly escaped with one of his sons, while two others are being held hostage. They also stormed the Vorbe family residence in Obléon, in the hills above Furcy. According to Jean Massillon, Acting Mayor of the commune of Kenscoff, they looted the house before moving in.

Referendum and elections impossible in 2025

According to former Prime Minister Jean-Michel Lapin, it is materially impossible for the current team to hold the constitutional referendum and elections to provide the country with an elected president before the deadline of February 7, 2026.

A Saharan sand mist combined with a high pressure system is maintaining a dry, hot, and windy air mass over Haiti, with daytime temperatures between 34 and 38°C, foggy weather, possible gusts of wind, and isolated showers in the mountains.
