Haiti - Politic : ALBA stands in solidarity with Haiti faced foreign interference

A delegation from the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) conducted a five-day working visit to Cap-Haitien last week to reaffirm its commitment to international solidarity with the Haitian people in the face of the political and social crisis they are experiencing.

The delegation, composed of representatives from Brazil, Venezuela, and Argentina, met with various Haitian grassroots organizations, such as PAPDA, Tèt Kole, Ti Peyizan Ayisyen, and MODEP, at the Jean-Marie Vincent Agroecological Training Center.

Discussions focused on understanding the roots of the current situation, identifying U.S. imperialism as the main driver of the violence, corruption, and shortages facing the country. According to Haitian journalist and activist Moïse Dayiti, the crisis "is not only linked to domestic actors, but also to foreign actors, imperialist and multinational interests that combine to create what is happening today."

In Pignon, members of the ALBA delegation gathered for a discussion alongside grassroots organizations such as PAPDA, Tèt Kole, Ti Peyizan Ayisyen, MPP, MPNKP, UNNOH, KAYLA, Antèn Ouvriye, Sèk Janil Lwijis, and MODEP. During the first days of discussions, they shared their thoughts on the structural and current crises facing Haiti in the face of media and political pressure.

The main focuses of this working session were : analyzing the ongoing imperialist war against the Haitian people, strengthening international solidarity mechanisms, and understanding the legacy of the 1804 Revolution in the context of the current struggles of Our America. The objective was to consolidate a continental work plan that outlines common strategies to support the Haitian people's resistance through commitment and concrete action.

"The peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, aware of their historical debt to Haiti, the country of the continent's first popular revolution, will never abandon the Haitian nation," Alba wrote on Instagram.
