Haiti - BAC «D-2» : 109,712 students expected for the 2025 Baccalaureate exams 12/07/2025 09:03:17
Everything is ready for the 2025 baccalaureate exams, with 109,712 candidates nationwide expected from Monday, July 14th to Thursday, July 17th, confirmed Yves Roblin, Director General of the Ministry of National Education, at a press conference. In addition, 12,802 candidates will participate in the exams as those who failed the Secondary IV exam, while 994 candidates are expected to take the Continuing Philosophy exams. "The forms have been printed and have been sent to the Departmental Directorates of Education (DDE) and distributed. The examination centers have been identified and prepared to welcome the candidates," he assured, assuring the quality of the texts that will be submitted to the candidates. Regarding security, he mentioned that during a meeting held the previous day at the Prime Minister's Office, the Armed Forces and the National Police were reminded to support the Ministry in this major operation, marking a decisive turning point in the educational journey of more than a hundred thousand young Haitians. Furthermore, Yves Roblin stated that he is counting heavily on the firm commitment of all those involved during these four days of exams to ensure that everything runs smoothly, in accordance with the mechanisms put in place and the provisions established by the Ministry. Inspector General Renan Michel reminded candidates, center managers, and invigilators of the guidelines that will be strictly enforced during these exams. He emphasized the prohibition on carrying weapons, programmable calculators, and cell phones. Cases of fraud will be severely punished, providing some details regarding members of a fraud ring caught in Delmas and Tabarre during the 9th-Year Fundamental Exams. The latter are still in the hands of justice. Miguel Fleurijean, the Director of Secondary Education, reassured candidates about the quality of the texts they will be presented with during the four days of exams, stating that they are consistent with the official curricula and take into account the actual learning time students have had during this school year. Once the students' papers are received, the marking process will begin quickly, the Director of Secondary Education announced. He indicated that, based on the performance of the teachers involved in this task and registered in the relevant database, 95% of them will be accepted this year. In his view, this process will proceed quickly and efficiently. Fleurijean expressed his delight that 48,000 of the 109,712 baccalaureate candidates participated in the National Compensation for Apprenticeship Program this year. Over 12 weeks, they recovered between 160 and 180 hours of instruction, equivalent to 35 to 40 school days. HL/ S/ HaitiLibre
