Haiti - Politic : MHAVE intensifies its actions in favor of the diaspora (video)

On Tuesday, July 1st, as part of the "Tuesdays of the Nation" Kathia Verdier, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), spoke to present the progress made in the government's efforts to facilitate access for our compatriots in the diaspora to the official documents essential for their free movement abroad.

Following a recent tour of the main Haitian communities in the Americas (Dominican Republic, Chile, Brazil, and Suriname), Minister Verdier expressed her satisfaction with the significant progress observed under the collaborative protocols implemented at her initiative regarding the process of issuing official documents, notably thanks to concerted efforts with the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police, the National Directorate of Archives, the National Identification Office, and the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration.

This regional tour helped resolve a critical situation: of the 5,000 passport applications pending at the Haitian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, 3,000 passports have already been issued.

Regarding compatriots in vulnerable situations or facing deportation measures, Minister Verdier stated that the Haitian government is preparing to welcome migrants affected by the end of the TPS and reiterated that the Haitian State has put in place support and repatriation measures aimed at ensuring a dignified return, in accordance with the republican commitments to protect every citizen, wherever they may be. In this regard, she reaffirmed a strong message: "Lakay se lakay. Lakay ap toujou lakay."
