Court of Cassation, President Returns

Rising inflation

According to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI), the general level of consumer prices continued its upward trend in May 2025. The general consumer price index (CPI, base 100 in 2017-2018) rose from 504.7 in April to 515.0 in May, representing a monthly change of 2% and an annual increase of 27.2%, compared to 3% and 26.8% respectively the previous month.

Trump wants to reject Asylum applications

On the immigration front, the Trump administration has reaffirmed its intention to reject the asylum applications of several thousand migrants, thus jeopardizing their ability to obtain regular status in the United States.

Education : files are moving forward

Regarding the appointment and regularization of teachers, Minister Augustin Antoine reiterated that this work is ongoing. Regarding appointments, the Ministry has already finalized the processing of 3,500 files, including 664 intern files. Many of them have already received their appointment letters. La Paix Hospital : 600,000 gourdes of fuel every 3 Days

Due to the lack of energy supplied by the Electricité d'Haïti (Electricity of Haiti), the La Paix University Hospital needs nearly 600,000 gourdes of fuel every three days to continue operating 24 hours a day on its generators, warns Dr. Paul Junior Fontilus, Executive Director of the La Paix University Hospital.
