Haiti - El PAcCTO Summit : Haiti's active participation in the creation of AMÉRIPOL

Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, represented Haiti at the Summit of the "El PAcCTO" Assistance Program against Transnational Organized Crime, held in Lima, Peru, from June 17 to 19, 2025. This program is funded to the tune of €19 million by the European Union over a period of five years.

This event brought together key stakeholders from the justice and regional security sectors, primarily from the Caribbean, Latin America, and the European Union.

Highlights of the summit included meetings of the Ministers of Justice of the Caribbean and the Americas, which helped define joint measures to strengthen regional security.

A highlight of these discussions was Haiti's active participation in the creation of AMÉRIPOL, an ambitious initiative aimed at strengthening information exchange between member countries. Coordinate operational efforts against transnational criminal networks and pool resources to combat organized crime.

This major international meeting, which concluded this Thursday, June 19, provided a major opportunity to explore avenues for enhanced regional cooperation in security matters.

During these high-level discussions, issues related to justice and regional security were addressed in depth, even beyond their operational dimension.

The presence of Haiti's Minister of Justice at this international summit clearly demonstrates the Haitian government's commitment to regional coordination, exchanges, and solidarity, in order to build a stable security environment for Haiti and the entire Caribbean and Latin American region.
