Haiti - FLASH : Kamikaze drone attacks in Grand-Ravine and Village de Dieu

The task force established by the Government continues its operations in territories controlled by gangs belonging to the "Viv ansanm" coalition. Following the offensive in the Vitelhomme Innocent territory in Pernier, explosive drone operations were conducted against the "Ti Lapli" gang in Grand-Ravine and also in Village de Dieu on June 9 and 10.

These attacks targeted strategic positions of the armed group, notably the Maranatha school, which had served as a base of criminal operations for several months.

According to reports from local residents, at least five Kamikaze drones exploded. Although no official death toll has been released, Pierre Espérance, Executive Director of the National Human Rights Defense Network (RNDDH), reports that "around a hundred bandits were killed" by the suicide drone strikes (this information cannot be confirmed).

These strikes caused panic among the population, forcing residents of "Gran Ravin" to seek refuge in the Fontamara neighborhood, controlled by "Kris la."

Pierre Espérance, who rejects any idea of amnesty for criminal gangs, believes these strikes represent an important step in the fight against impunity. However, he emphasizes the need for additional coordinated actions to truly regain control of these territories.

Despite these deadly operations, several neighborhoods remain under the control of armed groups, fueling a widespread climate of fear.
